Kalio Equestrian began with a mother, a daughter, and a shared life with horses.

When my daughter Paloma fell in love with riding at six years old, I began noticing something that received very little attention in the equestrian world: what years of sun, sweat, dust and long days at the barn can do to a rider's skin.

With more than three decades of experience in the skincare industry, I knew riders needed more than ordinary skincare. They needed products created for the realities of riding — to cleanse, replenish, protect and support skin exposed to the elements.

What began as my desire to protect my daughter's skin grew into something much bigger: high-performance skincare made for riders.

And that was the beginning of Kalio Equestrian.

Kalio’s name is rooted in family — and in horses.

My daughter, Paloma, is of Hawaiian and Austrian heritage. In Hawaiian, “ka lio” means “the horse.” When we brought the words together, Kalio felt like the perfect name for a brand born from our shared love of horses.
