When my beautiful little girl fell in love with horseback riding at the age of six, it became immediately apparent that her newfound passion would expose her delicate skin to years of unforgiving sunlight. Back then, I couldn’t help but notice that sun protection wasn’t a prominent concern in the equestrian community With over three decades of experience in the skincare industry, I recognized the need for change. We needed to educate our young riders, safeguard their beauty, and shield their skin from the potential long-term damage.

Skincare is much more than just moisturizers and serums. It’s primarily about nurturing and maintaining the health of your skin, both in the present and for the years to come. Our skin, the body’s largest organ, plays a multitude of vital roles and deserves the utmost care and protection. After all, healthy skin is beautiful skin.

Kalio Equestrian came from my unwavering passion for skincare and a deep desire to preserve my daughter Paloma’s healthy complexion. It was the commitment to safeguard her and all future equestrians from the relentless exposure to the elements that was the birth of Kalio Equestrian.

My daughter, Paloma is of Hawaiian and Austrian descent. I’m Austrian and her father is Hawaiian. ‘Ka Lio’ in Hawaiian means ‘The Horse.’  

When we put the letters together - Kalio - it felt just right.
